Climate models are powerful but accessibility is what makes them useful. Tools like CPIA-GEM (powered by GAMS MIRO) are starting to close that gap, making complex economic modelling more usable, not just more powerful.
As part of #ClimateWeek the UNFCCC secretariat travelled to Yeosu, Republic of Korea, to engage with practitioners and stakeholders committed to advancing climate action. By offering a space for dialogue, capacity building and innovation, the #CW3 supports the intergovernmental process to adopt urgent, inclusive, and coordinated climate action 🚀 As the 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭, we are pleased to contribute to this space through our regional training workshop, designed as a hands-on, practice‑oriented learning space for professionals involved in climate policy analysis, implementation, and reporting across the Asia‑Pacific region. 🎯 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 To support countries in integrating the assessment of response measures into national policy processes, while enhancing the quality and transparency of information used for decision-making. 👩💻𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 Across four interconnected sessions, the participants moved from technical foundations to policy application, guided by: 👉Learning by doing 👉 Peer‑to‑peer exchange 👉 Reflection on real‑world policy challenges ✅ 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 ✔The training provided a systematic way to assess the social, economic and environmental impacts of climate policies, offering a solid reference for real policy decisions ✔Hands-on scenario modelling helped to better understand how international climate policies could affect country and inform national policy positions A huge thank to participants for the active engagement and thoughtful discussions—you made this a truly impactful learning experience.
