Maar omdat het werk er simpelweg niet meer is. Het is niet altijd AI. Soms is het automatisering. Soms is het een slimmere tool. Maar het resultaat is hetzelfde. 𝗪𝗲𝗿𝗸 𝗱𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴 𝗷𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀, 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝘂 𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗿. En dan staan we voor de management-uitdaging. Want die uren die vrijkomen, die verdampen niet. 155 uur besparen we door Carv. Ik roep altijd vrolijk dat er dus meer gerookt en koffie gedronken wordt. Maar de echte vraag is: wat doe je met die vrijgekomen tijd? Meer recruiten? Meer opleiden? Meer events? Meer inhoud creeren? Olfertjan Niemeijer shared thisHoe deed ik dat vroeger dan? Deze week 20 kandidaten geïnterviewd voor een COO positie. Omdat het een internationale rol is alle kandidaten via teams. Alleen dat scheelt al 8 uur tijd. Online gesprekken zijn nou eenmaal minder gezellig maar wel korter…. Al deze gesprekken administratief verwerkt in ons ATS én de introductie teksten geschreven binnen een uur met Carv . Dat had me vroeger ruim een dag gekost (en dan was de admin kwaliteit in mijn ATS maar op 5% geweest ipv de 100% die hij nu is) Voel ik me toch weer even “back to the future”

(https://lnkd.in/eNuTsr6d) In the paper, I investigate the question "How much of your pipeline should you actually hand over to an LLM for static analysis?" Specifically: translating natural language into CPGQL — the query language for Joern's code property graphs(https://lnkd.in/e8NYwJAg). Think of it as Text-to-SQL, but for a DSL that (probably) barely exists in any training corpus. I'm comparing three designs: 1. LLM generates the query directly (maximum delegation) 2. LLM fills in a JSON form, deterministic algorithm writes the query (minimum delegation) 3. LLM picks from a set of tools(agents) (somewhere in between) The hypothesis then is: in domains with enough formal structure, the less the LLM touches, the better. Code property graphs have fixed schemas, typed queries, deterministic execution. Why ask a language model to improvise what parts you can constrain systematically? Also agents are not always better (for performance and even worse for token consumption). UPDATE: Arxiv link the publication https://lnkd.in/erUdB5kj. CONFESSIONS ON A FRIDAY People often say, “Dutch folks speak great English.” And in general, that’s true. 👉 But when I’m recruiting for service roles, clients almost always want Dutch speakers, simply because most customer conversations still happen in Dutch. At the same time, my English‑speaking colleagues sometimes call candidates who immediately say: "Do you speak Dutch? Maya, a technology platform specializing in agentic AI solutions for the travel industry, reported a record year, achieving x5 year-over-year revenue growth and x3 its client base Maya AI is a leader and a disruptor. Is their system good enough to convert a user to purchase? Maya have x2 leading case studies: https://lnkd.in/eHZ97n9k (Egypt) https://lnkd.in/ejd3jhJe (Iceland) Knowing a lot about Egypt and Iceland and about what travellers ask, I stress tested the two sites. The AI asked for data and gave suggestions before arriving at recommendations. I was quite impressed!. Varying performance on questions about Accommodation, Weather, Phone Reception. Neither had a clue about special offers. The AI would not have converted me to purchase. I would have needed interaction with a human. BUT it was only lack of data, the underlying intelligence of the AI was working!

A temporary HR assignment from June to December, 24 hours per week. Clear scope. No structural replacement. A well-defined project supporting recruitment processes. And yet, freelancers are explicitly excluded because of the DBA Act. But let’s be clear: the DBA Act doesn’t ban freelance work. It sets criteria to determine if there’s an employment relationship, not to prohibit independent contracting. This assignment? ✅ Temporary ✅ Clearly defined ✅ No employer authority ✅ No obligation for personal execution ✅ No structural integration In other words: exactly the kind of assignment that suits an independent professional. Still, freelancers are shut out, not because of the law, but due to risk aversion, internal policies, or misunderstanding of the legislation. That’s a missed opportunity. It limits flexibility, increases costs, and excludes experienced professionals who are built for this kind of work. If we want a future-proof labor market, we need to stop reflexively excluding freelancers. 🔍 Focus on the assignment, not the label. ⚖️ The DBA calls for nuanced assessment, not blanket rejection. Vetted talent has never been more important in the world of tech and with the AI boom happening, the fakers will only get bigger and better! I spoke with a Head of TA recently who said 8 of his 17 interviews booked for that day were fakes... some really hard to spot. Fun times ahead for everyone!
